Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Robot Chef handles, why, where it goes and what you can do about it. It covers the Robot Chef app for Android and iOS and these web pages. We wrote it in plain words on purpose: if something is not clear, write to us.

In short

Robot Chef has no account. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
Your recipes, tokens and settings are saved only on your phone. We cannot see them.
To create a recipe, the dish name you type and the options you choose are sent through our server to OpenAI, in the USA. We do not send your name, an account, a device ID or your IP address. OpenAI does not use this text to train its models.
Ads are videos you choose to watch in exchange for tokens. They are provided by Google AdMob, which asks for your consent where the law requires it.
Purchases go through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.
If you report an AI answer, the report is stored on our server until we have checked it.
You can ask us to see or delete your data at any time: sevan1189@gmail.com.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Sevan Soukiassian, who publishes Robot Chef as S-Games & Apps, Viale Repubblica 160, 33077 Sacile (PN), Italy, VAT IT01975920933. Email: sevan1189@gmail.com. Robot Chef is made by one person, so this is also the person who reads your messages.

2. Data saved on your phone

The app saves these things in its own storage on your phone:

your recipes: the last 20 you created and the ones you marked as favorites, with their images;
the last 5 dish names you typed, so you can pick them again;
your tokens, Robo Points, story progress and unlocked themes;
your settings (language, theme, font size, sounds) and whether you accepted the first-launch notice;
how many ad videos you watched in the last hour and day, to apply the limits.

This data never leaves your phone and we cannot see it. It is deleted when you delete a recipe, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Because there is no account, we cannot restore it for you. Your phone's own backup (for example Google or iCloud backup) may copy it, under the settings you chose there.

3. Creating recipes with AI

Robot Chef uses artificial intelligence models by OpenAI to write recipes, cooking tips and nutritional values, and to create dish images. When you ask for a recipe, the app builds a request with:

the dish name you typed (Robot Chef), or the dish type, cuisine, preparation time and ingredients you chose or typed (Fanciful Robot);
the options you picked: number of people, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, nutritional values, image;
the app's language, so the answer comes back in your language.

The request goes to our server (Google Cloud, in Belgium), which passes it to OpenAI in the USA and sends the answer back to your phone. We do not send your name, an account, a device ID or advertising ID, and OpenAI does not receive your IP address, only our server's. Our server does not store the request or the answer.

OpenAI does not use this data to train its models. It keeps it for up to 30 days to detect abuse of its service, and then deletes it.

Please do not type personal information (your name, health details or anything about other people) in the dish name or ingredients. The app does not need it, and it would be sent to OpenAI like the rest of the text.

Why and on what legal basis: to give you the recipe you asked for, which is the service the app provides (article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The AI can make mistakes: always check the ingredients for allergens and intolerances. No automated decision about you is ever made: the AI only writes the recipe you asked for.

4. Reports of AI content

If an answer is wrong, offensive or unsafe, you can report it from inside the app. The report contains:

what you are reporting (the recipe, the tip, the nutritional values or the image) and the AI content itself;
the dish name, which robot made it, and the message you write;
your phone model (for example "Pixel 7"), the app's language and the date and time.

Reports are stored in our database (Google Firebase, in the USA). We read them to fix problems and to keep the AI answers safe, which is also what the app stores ask of apps with AI. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app safe and working (article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep each report only as long as we need it to check it and fix the problem, then we delete it; spam is deleted at once. Please do not write personal information in the message.

5. Purchases

Token packs are sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store, which handle the payment under their own privacy policies. We never receive your card details, your name or your email.

To check that a purchase is real before giving you the tokens, the app sends the store receipt to Iaptic (iaptic.com), a receipt validation service, together with your phone model, operating system version, the app's language and a technical fingerprint of the device (a one-way code made from a device identifier, used to spot fraud). Legal basis: delivering what you bought (article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and preventing fraud (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. Ads and your consent

Robot Chef shows only rewarded videos that you choose to watch, in exchange for tokens. They are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC), which acts as an independent controller. To show and measure ads, and to prevent ad fraud, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, how you interact with the ads, and diagnostic data. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your consent before you watch the first video. You can change your choice at any time in the app: Account > Ad consent.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple asks whether you allow tracking (App Tracking Transparency) before the first video. Without your permission, the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change it in the iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
If you do not consent, you may still see ads that are not personalized, or no ads.

Legal basis: your consent (article 6(1)(a) GDPR and article 122 of the Italian privacy code), which you can withdraw at any time as described above. The app has no other analytics or tracking of its own.

7. Support

If you write to us by email or through Facebook Messenger, we use what you send only to answer you. Messenger is run by Meta under its own privacy policy. We keep the conversation only as long as we need it to help you.

8. These web pages

The Robot Chef web pages use no cookies and load nothing from other websites. They are served by Firebase Hosting (Google), which necessarily processes your IP address to deliver the pages.

9. Who receives data

OpenAI: the recipe requests described in section 3, to generate the answers.
Google (Google Cloud Functions, Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Hosting): it runs our server and stores the reports, on our behalf, under the Google Cloud data processing terms.
Iaptic: receipt checks, on our behalf.
Google AdMob: ads, as an independent controller.
Google Play and Apple: payments and refunds, as independent controllers.
Meta: only if you contact us on Facebook Messenger.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

10. Data outside the European Union

OpenAI processes the recipe requests in the USA, and our reports database is in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and also uses the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The requests we send to OpenAI are not linked to your identity, which is why we ask you not to type personal information in them.

11. How long we keep data

Data on your phone: until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Recipe requests: not stored by our server. OpenAI keeps them up to 30 days, then deletes them.
Reports: only as long as needed to check them and fix the problem.
Purchase checks: Iaptic keeps the receipt records under its own terms, to validate purchases and prevent fraud.
Ads: under Google's retention policies.
Support messages: as long as needed to help you.

12. Children and teenagers

Robot Chef is not made for children. If you are under 18, use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian. In Italy, children under 14 need the consent of a parent to use AI tools (Law 132/2025) and to give consent to data processing (article 2-quinquies of the Italian privacy code). If you are a parent and think your child sent us personal data, for example in a report, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the data we have about you, to correct or delete it, to limit its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to its use, for example to the reports we keep. You can withdraw your ad consent at any time, as described in section 6. Just write to sevan1189@gmail.com: we answer within one month.

Since there is no account, we cannot link data to you by ourselves. If your request is about a report, tell us the date and time you sent it and your phone model, so we can find it. The data saved on your phone is always under your control: you can delete it from the app or by clearing its data.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or the authority of the country where you live.

14. Security

All data travels encrypted (HTTPS). We collect as little as possible, we have no accounts and no passwords to protect, and only the developer can access the reports. If a breach ever affected your data, we would notify the authority and, where required, you.

15. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for how your data is used, we will also tell you in the app.
